Tadalafil is a PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitor used for treating erectile dysfunction but it also can be used for other conditions (like treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension).
It works by blocking the action of a chemical in the body called phosphodiesterase type 5.
Tadalafil is marketed world-wide as Cialis® by Lilly ICOS
Compared to sildenafil (Viagra®) or vardenafil (Levitra®) it has longer half-life (17.50 hours), that is longer duration of action.
Cialis® 10mg and 20mg tablets are intended for use at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. It produce an erection for up to 36 hours (Viagra® provides 4-5 hours erection).
Tadalafil 10mg and 20mg pills dosage is no more than once a day. It can't be taken every day on a continuous basis.
